Alderwood Teddy Bares 45th Annual Masters Swim Meet

Description: The 45th annual Alderwood Teddy Bares Masters Swim Meet was held on January 19 at the Alderwood Pool in South Etobicoke. It was a resounding success. The first meet of its kind took place in 1975 and currently holds the distinction of being the longest consecutive masters swim meet in Canada. In attendance was the founder and original coach of the Alderwood Teddy Bares (1973) Mr. Ted Roach. Ted and his family members joined the swimmers for a delicious lunch to mark the occasion. Alderwood Teddy Bares continue to flourish as a masters swim club and boasts over 60 active members ages 18 to 85, many of whom hold provincial, national, and international records.
