Haiti School Building Project

Description: On April 29th, the Canadian Legion Club Branch 210 in Etobicoke was the site of a big fundraiser for Student 2 Student. Guests enjoyed a meal and live entertainment, and tried their luck with the raffles and a silent auction. In addition, the Toronto District School Board has been on board, holding bake sales, penny drives, garage sales, movie days and barbecues. This project has taken the most disadvantaged youth in the GTA and paired them up with the most disadvantaged youth in the world, in Haiti. Together, through education and learning the program empowers kids to not only change the circumstances surrounding their lives but to also think bigger and help change the world. Enough funds have been raised to build a school in Haiti and give hope to the hundreds of kids who are without the basic right of education.
