Pods to Plate Cooking Workshop

Description: On August 16, guests learned how to make healthy and inexpensive meals from a registered dietitian using Etobicoke-grown produce from the Gardens Pod Project 2016. Ingredients from the garden pods were used to create a delicious meal. The Pod Project 2016 stems from the concept of a community garden, except pods tend to be smaller, mobile, raised beds that are easier to maintain and dispersed to various locations within the South Etobicoke community. Charlene, a church guardian, made a quiche with Swiss chard which was enjoyed by the attendees. Maki, a dietician from LAMP Community Health Centre, talked about the importance of garden projects to promote a healthy life.
