Description: Due to congestion and traffic difficulties experienced in South Etobicoke, particularly the Park Lawn/Lake Shore area, LAMP Community Health Centre decided to put this subject down as one of the many topics discussed at their Annual General Meeting. The community was invited to join the conversation on how to improve traffic congestion and public transit in South Etobicoke. The City is currently undertaking the Park Lawn Lake Shore Transportation Master Plan EA (Phase 1 and 2) to develop a complete and sustainable (multi-modal) transportation network for existing and future area residents. The study area is roughly from Park Lawn Road to the Humber Loop and south of The Queensway. The transportation panel included: Edward Presta, Project Manager, Park Lawn Lake Shore Transportation Master Plan Study; Richard Beck, Program Manager, City of Toronto Transportation Planning; Richard Borbridge, Senior Advisor, Hub and Station Planning, Metrolinx; and Glenn Miller, Senior Associate Canadian Urban Institute and a spokesperson Metrolinx. The Annual General Meeting took place on September 15 in the Humber College Lakeshore Campus auditorium.
